A 14-week plan for AD Tribal Welfare

5 phases, week by week

  1. Weeks 1-2

Map the syllabus and fix your Paper II option

    • Confirm your Paper II subject; print only that syllabus (notification pages 4-10).
    • Tick syllabus lines against your MA notes; check AP lines and research methods first.
    • Make one page per theorist your option names.
  2. Weeks 3-6

Paper II core theory (about 3 hours a day)

    • Anthropology: kinship, marriage, religion, economic and political anthropology, PLA and PRA.
    • Sociology: classical thinkers and key terms; stratification, family, religion, social change.
    • Social Work: case work, group work, community organisation, social action: principles and models.
  3. Weeks 7-9

Paper II India, tribes and AP; Paper I static

  4. Weeks 10-11

Paper I scoring parts and Paper II revision

    • Daily reasoning and data analysis: mean, median, mode, variance; about 1 minute a question.
    • Practise match-the-following and multi-statement items, which grew in 2025.
    • Revise Paper II with one-line notes on every syllabus line.
  5. Weeks 12-14

Full tests, current events and the CPT

    • Take full 150-minute Paper I tests online; review every wrong answer.
    • Revise the last 12 months of current events: AP, tribal schemes, international.
    • Practise typing and Word, Excel, PowerPoint 20 minutes a day for the CPT.

Mistakes that cost marks

5 traps seen in the real papers
  • Spending most hours on Paper I: a 10-question gain in Paper II equals 20 in Paper I.
  • Blind guessing: with a 1/3 penalty among four options, a pure guess gains nothing. Rule out one first.
  • Applying without two national-level journal publications; they are part of the qualification.
  • Skipping the named Acts and bodies in Paper II: PESA 1996, Forest Rights Act 2006, Fifth and Sixth Schedules, TRICOR.
  • Leaving the CPT to the end: it is qualifying, and typing speed is 25% of its marks.
