A 14-week plan for Assistant Commissioner Endowments

5 phases, week by week

Assumes a practising advocate with about 3 hours a day for three to four months; the exam date is not notified yet.

  1. Week 1

Apply, collect the bare Acts, measure where you stand

    • Apply between 02.11.2026 and 22.11.2026; read the Detailed Notification.
    • Get Act 30 of 1987 (amended to Act 36 of 2023) and Hindu law Acts.
    • Take one Paper I mock untimed to find your weakest items.
  2. Weeks 2-5

Paper III first pass, section by section (2 hours a day) and Paper I base (1 hour)

    • Sections 6, 15, 29, 57; Chapters VII and X; Sections 75 to 83; TTD chapter.
    • Build one table: every power, its authority, the appeal and the time limit.
    • Paper I: history and geography of India and AP, plus 15 reasoning questions.
  3. Weeks 6-9

Paper II Hindu Law (2 hours a day) and Paper I economy, polity, environment

    • Sources, schools, coparcenary, partition, stridhana; HSA heirs, Section 14, the A.P. amendment.
    • HMA, Family Courts, Dowry Prohibition, HMGA and HAMA sections.
    • Paper I: economy, polity, environment, disaster management; mean, median, mode, variance by hand.
  4. Weeks 10-11

Second pass of Paper III and the link item

    • Re-read the Act testing yourself on section numbers.
    • 30-question sectional tests on each law topic; keep one error notebook.
    • Paper I: current events of the last 12 months, 30 minutes a day.
  5. Weeks 12-14

    Full mocks in exam conditions

    • Take 3 to 4 full sets, 150 minutes per paper, on a screen.
    • After each, count marks lost to negative marking; set your guessing rule.
    • Practise one office-software task a week for the Computer Proficiency Test.

Mistakes that cost marks

5 traps seen in the real papers
  • Reading Paper III like a court brief: questions ask the exact section, authority, days or rupees.
  • Studying an old copy of the Act: Act 36 of 2023 replaced the encroachment sections.
  • Trusting syllabus misprints: the Hindu Succession Act is of 1956, not 1955; options often differ only by year.
  • Learning only the central Hindu Succession Act: the syllabus names the A.P. amendment.
  • Leaving Paper I to the end: it is 150 of 450 marks, and reasoning needs weeks of practice.
