Biggest block: Paper I: Current events (15%). How questions are asked.
APPSC notification 22/2026 fills 11 Reporter posts in the AP Legislature Secretariat: 10 English and 1 Telugu. Selection is on a 300-mark written exam with no interview, and the shorthand test (Paper II, 150 marks) counts as much as all of Paper I.
Based on Paper I only: the common Paper I of APPSC's 2022 and 2025 ASO recruitments (294 questions, final keys). No Paper II passage was analysed.

Paper II is 150 of 300 marks: a clean transcript can be worth as much as a strong Paper I, so keep daily dictation.
History, geography and current events made up about 40% of Paper I in 2022 and 2025.
Polity jumped from 3 questions (2022) to 16 (2025); know the State Legislature articles, the Speaker and the legislative process.
Reasoning and data are about 27 questions a year that reward practice. 2025 was easier, so avoiding the 0.33 penalty matters more than hard items.
How questions are asked

5 traps seen in the real papers
Treating Paper II as a formality: it is 150 of 300 marks, valued for verbatim accuracy.
Practising only at exactly 150 wpm; practise above it so the exam pace feels easy.
Practising with general prose only; names, numbers and House terms in debates are where marks are lost.
Using a certificate obtained after 13/10/2026, or typewriting below Higher Grade.
Following the undated scheme files (180 wpm, interview, 330 marks); the 13/10/2026 notification governs.
