Paper I · 6 Indian Economy & Planning · 6.6.7 Amaravati and bifurcation issues
6.6.7.1 Amaravati capital: land pooling, the three-capitals phase and the current plan
Amaravati was planned in 2014–15 as a greenfield capital on land pooled from farmers. It was stalled by the three-capitals policy (2019–21), revived from 2024 with multilateral loans, and made the capital by Parliament's 2026 amendment to the Reorganisation Act.
