  2. 11.1.2Vocational education and vocationalisation

Vocational education trains a person for a particular trade or job; vocationalisation builds work and job skills into general schooling. India's line runs from Wood's Despatch (1854) and the Abbott-Wood Report (1937), through Mudaliar's diversified courses (1952-53) and Kothari's work experience and vocationalisation (1964-66), to the +2 vocational stream, NSQF (2013), NCrF (2023) and NEP 2020, which integrates vocational with academic learning.
