7 Development Plan · 7.2 Preparing a development plan

7.2.1 Development plan process: surveys, studies, stages, public participation and DP vs TP scheme

A Development Plan (DP) is made in a fixed legal sequence: declare the intention, survey and map existing land use, study and project, publish a draft for objections, hear objectors, submit, and get State sanction; a Town Planning Scheme then carries out the DP in detail on the ground.
