14 Acts & Rules · 14.4 Maharashtra Land Revenue Code 1966

14.4.3 MLRC Sections 42–51: non-agricultural use after the 2025 amendment, premium, minerals and encroachment

Until 2025, agricultural land could be put to non-agricultural (NA) use only with the Collector's permission under s.42, followed by a sanad and a recurring NA assessment; the MLRC (Second Amendment) Act, 2025 removed the separate Collector permission where the use is allowed by the Development or Regional Plan, so the Planning Authority's development permission now suffices, and replaced the yearly NA tax with a one-time premium under s.47.
