9.1.3 Local area plans under Gujarat TPUDA Section 76A and their link with UDCPR
Gujarat made the local area plan a statutory tool through s.76A of its 1976 Act, with enforcement powers added in 2017, and used it for redensifying Ahmedabad's transit zones and CBD; in Maharashtra, UDCPR Reg. 15.3 gave LAPs a regulatory footing (with LAP rules prevailing over UDCPR) until the 2025 MRTP amendment.
